Hey everybody. A few months ago I bought a new graphic card to my PCand installed it.
Also to ensure everything works good I formatted my PC and installed a new Windows and the drivers to everthing. So I started playing some videos games and started testing my new graphic card and surprisngly everything was smooth and okay until today. I could play Battlefield V with max graphics and other games too but today I launched Battlefield and my settings automatically changed to low and when I log in to the game I have such FPS drop, everything lags and I simply cannot play games any longer.

I don't know if I installed some graphic driver update that ruined my performance or some kind of software that makes my PC FPS drop so much. Thing is also that I have an uncommon setup because my PC has:
Graphics: GeForce RTX 4060
CPU: IntelCore i5-7400 4 cores 3.0GHz
RAM: 16GB

I'm not sure what to do really right now. Should I format my hard drive again? or the issue is somewhere else? Can someone help me with my problem? I know that probably people make threads like this very often but I wanted to freely ask somewhere and not to be send to somewhere else or to be ignored. Thank you.

let me ask ( because i dont know much about older intel )does it have a IGPU on the cpu ..

i found a few weeks back that ( and for some strange reason ) my 7800x3d decided to revert to its IGPU and totally bypass the 7900xtx !!

Can you list what PSU you have and how old it is?

You stated that everything was working fine previously so have there been any changes to hardware or software?
Hey. My PC power supply has 450W. I'm not sure if this answer is what you were asking for. I bought my whole PC outcluding graphic card and RAM about 5 years ago. Yes It did work fine until now. The only thing I remember I updated or changed is the video card drivers. They're the latest ones.

I'm sorry but I can't find any information about IGPU on my CPU. If I could tell me how I can find such information I will reply in this thread. I can link my PC where I bought it. There should be description about my specification.

What model PSU ?
Read model name from info label printed on PSU or make a photo and show here.
(upload to imgur.com and post link)

For RTX 4060 minimum recommended PSU is 550W.
At store where I bought my card It was said that I need 450W for this card but I wasn't sure if this requirement is only for the card and how much of PC power supply is needed for CPU. I didn't know that amount combine with graphic card + CPU or just 450W was fine.

I know these websites are in polish but the specification should be clear for everybody.
I upload my PC Power supply. Here's the link to the photos:

Gigabyte says - 450W PSU is enough for this graphics card model.

Check temperatures during gaming.
Use MSI afterburner.

Do you have integrated GPU enabled?
Normally with discrete card installed, iGPU should be disabled.

Can you show screenshot from GPU-Z ?

I upload ss of eveything what you were asking. I'm not sure about the information about integrated GPU I did the screenshot of options in the Device Manager. Hopefully It's what you were looking for. I was testing everything in BG3 because It's the only game that FPS varies from 20-50 more or less.

All of those BG3 screens show your CPU being completely maxed out which is holding your GPU back so it's not going to be a good indicator for performance.
Okay, thank you. So what should I do next? I wanted to upgrade my PC in budget way that's why I decided to buy graphic card like 4060 because there wasn't a need to buy a new PC power supply but It seems I have to buy it anyway. My question is: Should I buy new Motherboard (my old one does not support sockets like 1700, current socket is Socket 1151 from the information from the producer), CPU and Power supply? Or don't buy Motherboard, find a CPU with socket 1151 and purchase Power Supply? Can you recommend what Power Supply should I aim to and what variation of purchasing new components should I look for? I'd be very grateful for the help and advices.

So what should I do next?
Temperatures seem fine.
But CPU is maxed out.

What vsync options are you using? You may want to limit fps, to reduce cpu usage.
Can you show screenshots from CPU-Z - motherboard, memory and spd sections?

As for upgrades - if you can get i7-7700/K for cheap, then that might be worth it.
It would be upgrade from 4core/4thread i5-7400 to 4core/8thread i7-7700/K.
But other than that - upgrade to a more capable cpu would require change of motherboard also.

For major upgrade I'd recommend upgrading to at least 6core/12thread system (or better 8core/16thread).

I think that buying i7-7700/k is a temporally solution. Unfortunately I suppose I need to decide for a major upgrade of my PC. Could you tell me what parts I should change and could you recommend me a good CPU, Motherboard and Power Supplier to purchase? Obviously I aim for a good "value to money" aspect. I did a small research yesterday and I found as a CPU i5-13400F or i5-13500, Motherboard Gigabyte B760 GAMING X DDR4 / ASUS PRIME H610M-K DDR4. Power supply MSI MAG 650W 80 Plus Brozne / ENDORFY Vero L5 700W 80 Plus Brozne. I don't know if these components are a good choice I much rather listen what you guys can tell me. Thank you.

In this screen - enable frame limiting and move fps limit slider down until cpu usage drops below 90%.

BTW - in this screenshot your ram usage (commit charge) goes past physical amount of ram.
Either close all open apps, while gaming - like web browsers with multiple tabs open. Those can eat a lot of ram.
Or upgrade to 32GB of ram.

Yes, I can lower the settings its no problem to gain some FPS that way but at the end of the day It seems that I need to upgrade my PC anyway. In previous post I asked you guys if you could tell me what parts you can recommand for me. Could you suggest what components I need to buy? Like I mentioned the best solution for me is value to money. I'd be very thankful for your suggestions.

It very much depends on your budget.

Your motherboard choice was quite good.
If you can go with i7, then you'd get 8 performance cores (compared to 6 on i5). Significantly better.
You'll probably need a new cpu cooler also.
Something like this:

PCPartPicker Part List

CPU: Intel Core i7-12700KF 3.6 GHz 12-Core Processor ($199.99 @ Amazon)
CPU Cooler: be quiet! Dark Rock 4 CPU Cooler ($69.90 @ Amazon)
Motherboard: Gigabyte B760 GAMING X DDR4 ATX LGA1700 Motherboard ($181.89 @ MemoryC)
Power Supply: SeaSonic G12 GC 650 W 80+ Gold Certified ATX Power Supply ($109.59 @ Amazon)
Total: $561.37
Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available

Hey. Thank you everybody for the replies and help you gave me. I think in conclusion I need to buy a new CPU to make it better. There's no other way to increase my performance. I leave a like to everybody who responded and helped me with my problem.
