Problem with Old Server to New Computer

I found a somewhat older PC which turned out to be a server. It was running Windows Server 2008 on it, and it was restricting access to IE, the internet, and everything else. I removed the hard drives, put in a new hard drive, put a Windows XP disc in, and tried to boot it up. It starts the installation, but then I get a blue screen. What should I do?

Use something newer than a 12 year old OS.

What should you do? Figure out why it isn't working.
From that level of detail, no one else can suggest anything beyond random guesses.

Bad install media? Bad hard drive? Bad RAM?.
