Hello,

It seems I have a problem with my P.C.'s fan radiator. It's making a loud buzzing noise. It sounds like the fan is running at full speed. This never happened before, It was all fine yesterday night and when I woke up to turn my P.C. on it started doing that. I've already checked if any screws are loose. They're not unfortunately. I don't know what's causing it other than maybe a Windows update. But I highly doubt that. (Updating was the last thing I did before going to sleep.) Any help would be appreciated.

Solution
Yeah send it back and ask them to fix it. I have bad experiences with water cooling in terms of reliability and I find them to fail much more frequently than normal air coolers on CPUs.
Hi, it sounds as though as either your fan is packing up or a windows update is causing your fan to run faster than normal. Most fans make too much noise if they run at full speed. I cannot figure out which fan exactly you are talking about. Your CPU cooler? Or some other fan?

In any case you can do a few things.

1) download http://download.cnet.com/SpeedFan/3000-2094_4-10067444.html and check out your fan speeds.
2) run you pc and enter the bios before windows loads. let it cool off and does it still make that noise? Then your fan is broken as in the bios no windows update can cause it to make a buzzing noise.
3) roll back your windows to a previous state if your fan is fine in the bios and see if that fixed the problem.

Ok so I just found out that the update for Windows failed. So it's not the cause of it. And I tried your stuff. The fan is around 2,100~2,400 R.P.M. But that looks normal doesn't it? Anyways, the cooler fan runs all noisy and buzzy all the time. Even at the BIOS. You might be right then. My fan is broken, I'm gonna go ahead and call my manufacturer as my desktop is still under warranty.

Also I have to use my PC as I need to do some work... I turned off the CPU cooler. (It's not air-cooled, it's liquid cooled) Will it affect anything? The fan is the one attached to the radiator. That's what's making all the buzzing noises. My CPU temps. are around 35~45c idle and under load 38~44c. I don't think it's even affecting the temp. much. Anyone know if it's alright to do so? I really need to get my work done.

I wouldn't run it too long that way, only because the fan (I'm assuming the 'noisy' one is a radiator fan) is what's cooling the radiator. Without it, unless you have a dual fan radiator with one still running, will eventually heat up the entire cooling loop and your temps will start going up. They may look fine for a little bit, at least until the loop heats faster than the radiator can lose heat by convection.

Ah alright. As the radiator's fan is the only problem, would it be good to go to a local computer store and buy a replacement fan? I think it would be a faster solution. If so, would I need to pick a specific fan just for that radiator or I can pick any fans and it'll work just fine?

I fixed it, Something was probably hitting it. A cord or etc. I don't know what it was hitting but I'm glad it's fixed now. You were all helpful and I thank you and appreciate it very much. I wish I could pick everyone a best answer. But thank you.

Glad you got it resolved. Pc fans aren't very strong so even the smallest obstruction like a cable can slow them down or stop them. In the future If you look to replace the fan(s) for your radiator you'll want a pc fan with higher static pressure. Not all pc case fans offer high static pressure (meaning the power to blow air through an obstruction like radiator fins).
