Hello. Today I installed radeon r9 280x graphic card and it was working properly. I played NFS The Run, Call of Duty AW, Dying Light at high settings. At some point my screen went black with some lines and I had to restart PC to get it working. But after restart everything worked just fine.
My PSU is Thermaltake SMART SE 630W modular: http://www.thermaltake.com/products-model.aspx?id=C_00001965

Now my PC starts fine but as soon as it boots to desktop screen goes black, I get message that driver has stopped working and it has recovered. After few seconds it happens again. Then I get BSoF with message tdr failure. I booted to safe mode, uninstalled drivers and I got it working but as soon as I install drivers I get same error.

Windows 8.1 x64
Intel core i5 4440 @ 3.1GHz
8 GB RAM

I hope my card is not dead.

Remove the graphics card - clean the slot and install it back. If you still have problems try to switch the vga bios on the card to the other position - also remove any overclocking software you might have installed like msi afterburner, trix, evga precision etc. Make sure you clean uninstall the vga drivers before you install the latest ones. If all this fails then your GPU is dead.

If the card was bought second hand and used for bit mining then the above may not apply.

Yes, I bought it used, I'll try to do that. I really hope my GPU is not dead because it's working perfectly without drivers. Currently I'm running on Microsoft VGA driver on 1920x1080
