Problem with Radeon r9 380x 4gb ddr5

I got my graphics card hooked up to my new monitor which is a ASUS 21.5" 1080p LED Gaming Monitor - VP228H and for some unknown reason it doesn't detect the graphics card. The weird thing is when i plug the same plugs into my old Emachines E202H monitor which is 9 years old the monitor detects the graphics card and works fine. My software for the graphics card is up to date and the computer isn't that old. My question is how do I go about fixing this problem with my computer and graphics card ?

HDMI Standard cables work with resolutions up to 720p and 1080i. HDMI High Speed cables work with 1080p and above. The VP228H is 1080p.

ty i didnt know that at all now i know which one to buy so i just look up high speed cable for 1080p ?

i ordered a hdmi high speed cable for my desktop graphics card would that still matter that's its not a laptop but its a desktop ?
