Problem with Red Alert 3 - no sound!!

i installed red alert 3 but for some reason, when i start the game, the sound doesn't load? The sound works perfectly fine in windows and other games... My copy of RA3 is genuine too... the only thing which i could think of which might be causing the problem is that my DVD drive has no audio cable connecting it to the motherboard... but then it is a SATA... would that be a problem ?

I'm using patch 1.03 btw and my PC is pretty spec'd up - enough to handle RA3 anyway

i bet you have Terratec soundcard. I heard many ppl dont have sound at all with this card in red alert 3. I have it too
