Problem with ROCCAT Tyon mouse software

Guys,

I recently bought a Tyon mouse.

I downloaded the driver from ROCCAT, seemed to install fine. Mouse moves (really twitchy though - far too sensitive), MB1 & 2 work, but the allegedly programmable buttons don't do anything. No way to program those buttons as there is no ROCCAT interface program. In-game those buttons don't seem to exist (Skyrim, Elite Dangerous). Looked on the ROCCAT website (which is a nauseating mish-mash to tabs and videos and lights clearly designed to appeal solely to ADHD kids and not adults) - no FAQ or manual or help about the Tyon mouse. Completely unable to figure out how to access their presumed forums. Got a headache, swore and left. Asked on FB ROCCAT page, someone said Ineeded to install ROCCAT Talk as well (I was doubtful as this is my only ROCCAT peripheral, and ROCCAT describes this prog as allowing ROCCAT peripherals to work together). Anyway, did so, and no joy. Install wizard says it went in OK, but no icon to start any kind of interface. Only icon seen is in the bottom right toolbar, which just flashes red/blue/red (?searching for other ROCCAT peripherals?) but when Right clicked only gives the option to Exit.

So, expensive twitchy mouse, unable to program, ROCCAT website useless and uninformative.

I'm running Win 8.1 64.

Any advice?

Cheers.

Simon

Thanks, das_stig. That didn't actually work, but it did under WIN XP compatibility! Appears to be working now.

I'm having the same problem but I'm using Windows 7 and the compatibility mode isnt working for me. Does anyone know what if there is a fix? I enjoy the mouse so far but it seems pointless if I can't use the buttons. Only two of them work the ones on the side right below the little tilt thing used for Altitude and stuff for vehicles in games.
