Hello
I notesd from a few days a continuous rise in my CPU usage.
I checked what is the problem, I found that samsung magician software is using the internet.
I stopped it then the CPU return to its normal 1%
I uninstalled it but it download itself and install itself automatically.
Is it a virus that is rising my CPU usage or i have something wrong in my network settings?
Thanks[/quotem
CAUTION: The Software magician has malware on their installation disk. What I did, that when I installed the new Samsung 840 EVO SSD, I made sure that my computer is disconnected from the Internet. It is a good thing what I did because there was an attempt connect to the Internet my the Sofware Magician. There was no connection to the Internet. If you were connected to the Internet, chances are that they have already done data mining. What I did experience is that it took 20 minutes for Windows 7 to bootup. That was a dead giveaway that something is not right. I was able to salvage the source drive but not the target drive which is the Samsung drive. They have severely damaged my security files. My ZoneAlarm that guarded the ports in the safe zone as well as the Internet zone all had check marks in them because I had to allow Samsung to do their work to make the new drive work while I trusted them by allowing ZA to allow them to access local files. I'm still not connected to the Internet.
How I saved my source drive. This can be dangerous because it can mess up your computer if you delete the wrong file in the registry. I used the search utility in the registry and searched for "Samsung" and deleted everything that was associated with "Samsung." Next I deleted everything in the registry that is associated with the "Software magician." Next I searched for "Clonix" and deleted all the registry keys associated with this program. I forgot to mention that before I went into the registry, I made an attempt to uninstall anything associated with "Samsung" but did it did not respond to the uninstall manager. I forcefully deleted the Samsung files by navigating to the Windows folder, right clicked, and manually deleted the Samsung file. I was able to uninstall the "Software Magician" but had to manually deleted the "Clonix" software entry from the registry by using the search utility in the registry. I proceeded to use my Windows backup dvd disk to replace damaged files and I successful in restoring Win7 to its original state. I never backed up anything for four years until about five days ago. Had I not done this, I would have to eat Win7 on my computer. Also when I utilized the Win 7 backup disk, ZonaAlarm went back to its original configuration before the invasion of malware. I only had to do a few things to fix it. I could not do anything with my ZoneAlarm firewall because nothing was responding in ZA until I used my Win 7 backup disk. I think that they used robots because even though I was not connected to the Internet whatever was on my computer knew what I was doing. Well, today is a holiday but tomorrow I will contact the FBI in my hometown and I will persuade them to do a forensic examination of the new hard drive and or my source drive. I would like to think that Samsung is not at fault but what I saw on the Internet, other people have experienced what I have.
Another word of caution, DO NOT RETURN YOUR SSD to the vendor where you bought it from. They will return the SSD drive back to Samsung and making possible whoever is malicious in their organization to do data mining on your returned drive and get to your financial information and whatever else that is none of their business. It would be better to take the dollar loss from your new drive then to have them pay a visit to your IP address. I'm willing to turn in both of my drives to the FBI because I have nothing to hide. I'm not a terrorist or a criminal. I don't know why our computers are expected to be connected to the Internet all the time even when we are not in front of it. Its like running a hotel with the front door wide open and all the doors to each room. Disconnect your computer from the Internet so that you can stay in control as long as you don't need to be on the Internet. Before I go to bed, I also turn off my modem so that the modem is not available to probes 24 hours a day. This will also reset your modem in case anyone made a change from the Internet. Check with your ISP provider before you do this. Change the registry keys or any other changes to your Win7 files at your own risk. I took the risk and it paid off only because I have a WIN 7 backup disk I made for the first time in the six years I had WIN7, phew! I do not network my computers because networking them together is dangerous because of upnp that the FBI recommend that it be disabled on our computers. long time
I am engineer and i cant put my work on computer because if i lost one building construction map i am in a big problem infront the owner.
Windows maybe affected with viruses and human error, and from less than a month we had a problem with autucad files. Every file you create and save, another file created near it. We have Norton antivirus and updated daily on the internet so we didn't suspect it as a virus until i took the file home and tried to scan it with kaspersky and it catch the file as a virus and delete it, so we changed to kaspersky antivirus.
Because of that i put all my work on external HD
I have nothing important on my computer so when i see that windows start to make problems i format the computer and install a fresh copy of windows.
After one week from putting the solution ( my last message ) i experienced the same problem again, The fastest solution to me was format and install new windows and that solved the problem.
Sometimes when the computer makes a system restore point it saves the windows with all its problems even viruses and when you restore window it restore virus with it. till now i didn't find system restore point usfull for me so i disable it and save some HD space.
As time pass you install and try a lot of programs and even when you uninstall those programs they keep files on your computer you cant delete them and they change registry.
Format is the easy fast and comfortable solution, its only disadvantage is that you have to return the settings of your programs as it was.
