Problem with sound blaster Z

I have my sound blaster z for around 1,5 years. It always worked perfectly fine, but now suddenly nothing happens when I switch from speakers to headphones in the sound blaster software. When I want to change it from speakers to headphones, the switch goes to headphones but the sound keeps coming from the speakers. When I plugin the headphones into the speaker jack and the speakers into the headphone jack, the sound will only come from the headphones even if I press the switch in the software. Is it a faulty product or is something else going on?

Maybe the front port on the case is not being detected? Chech the cable that goes from your front(case) audio connection to the SoundBlaster/motherboard. May have gotten knocked lose? Have you moved the pc or cleaned the dust out of the inside recently?
