I bought a new CAT8 cable for my computer and now I have limited internet 100/100 Mb and I don't know how to fix it since I have 400 mb upload and download service.

Likely fake cable. Flat cable?

Where was the cable purchased?

All you need is CAT 5e or CAT 6a.

Round, twisted pair, all copper (not copper clad aluminum) AWG 22-24.
It is a flat cable if you buy it in a small store. The internet comes and goes all the time so I believe it is a fake.

Flat cable does not meet Ethernet specs.

And lots of round cables are fakes.

Return the flat cable.

Then look for real Ethernet cables.

FYI:

You can easily find other similar links and information.

If possible borrow a cable from someone that you can use to test your connection.

Once working then purchase the same cable from the same source if possible.

Be aware that it is unlikely that you will attain the ISP's full advertised speeds....

Unless you paid at least $50 for a 10ft cable it is not a real cat8 cable. Those are only used in high end data centers....and they have high end prices to go with it. If you are rich and buy home pc with 40gbit ports you likely can pay a pro to come over to your house. Almost every cable you see that is called cat8 is a fake cable. You generally can only buy them from suppliers who sell equipment to enterprise class customers.

You need nothing better than cat5e to get 1gbit. Buying a bigger cat "number" does nothing the port can not run any faster than 1gbit and a cat5e can do that. If you were to have 10gbit ports you buy cat6a. You should not buy any other types of cable.

BUT there are massive amounts of fake cable so you have to carefully read the specs and buy only from reputably vendors.
