Problem with VGA to DVI adapter.

Here's the deal. My monitor only has a VGA connection and my GPU doesn't (NvGF 650Ti Boost).
I've been using an adapter since I bought the new computer and it's working just fine except that in some games I get the monitor's native resolution only on 120Hz which my monitor doesn't support since it's 1366x768 @60Hz. Instead I have to use 1920x1080 to get 60Hz and actually get an image. I guess I get a higher setting of resolution and refresh rate because of the conversion from analog to digital and it's unable to determine the max but I wonder is there any workaround for this ? Will there be any difference if I got a DisplayPort to VGA cable/adapter ?

well it maybe a glitch ?? look up ''crisis 24hz bug'' and see how things can be wrong ???

I have a 650Ti BOOST and a DVI to VGA adapter to a 1680x1050 60HZ monitor and all works fine, caps to 60fps (adaptive Vsync) automatically. Are your drivers up to date?
