Problem with video from new card.

Ok. I recently upgraded to a GTX 970 and had some trouble with completing the installation. I wouldn't get any video output from the card and after searching for awhile, went through the uninstalling previous nvidia drivers and disabling the Intel one. Now the strange problem is that the card only works if I boot up through the integrated hdmi output, sign in to Windows, and then turn off the computer and add the video card. It works fine until the computer is turned off or restarted, and then I have to go through the whole process of removing the card and booting from the integrated hdmi again. Any ideas?

CPU: I-7 4770

What motherboard? Might be worth updating the bios, and making sure you have the default video device set to PCI-E

I'm not exactly sure what motherboard. It's a dell XPS 8700.

Ok see if there are any bios updates direct with Dell.

Disable "secure boot" in the bios.
