Hi

i just bought 1x 8GB Vengeance DDR3 RAM and I'm worried it wont comply with my motherboard.
Motherboard: P55H-a- the board only supports 16Gb. Since the board will only take 16GB does that mean I will be able to use 1 or even 2 sticks since it is a single 8GB?

Thanks

I'm thinking it may work as ram. Whether your computer uses (or even acknowledges) all of it is a different story. Then again, it may not even work as ram - really can't hurt to try though - unless you want to return it unopened.
Since your mobo manual doesn't mention ram modules greater than 4GB, I'm thinking that is your limitation.

OK so i went ahead and tried the stick. I booted up and all was normal, when it got the the Windows load screen it freezes on the start up then reboots a fraction of a second later. This process just repeats itself.
Could it be a windows error or hardware?
Any ideas?
