Problems after increasing RAM (1-2gb)

Recently I added another gigabyte of dual channel PC3200 ram to my computer. This took it from 1gb to 2gb. There should have been no problem with this. However, there was a major problem. After running any of my games for a short period of time the computer totally locks up resulting in me pushing the reset button. It stops doing this after I remove the new sticks of RAM. However, I doubt it's the RAM simply because this is my second stick that have have tried in it. The computer is over clocked as you will see in the image. I tried taking the RAM down to below normal operating speed to see if maybe this stick was just sensitive, but to no avail. You can see however that these sticks (slots 3 & 4) do not have a table for 133 Mhz. I don't know if that is a huge deal or anything, but it also doesn't show the sticks' serial numbers as it does on the 2 original ones (1 & 2).

If anybody could suggest anything for me to do (yes I have tried going with all default settings), please let me know.

Have you lower the ram to DDR333 speed in Dram configuration menu. Since it looks like you are using all four memoty slots.

Link for Ram types for your motherboard below.

Check pages 27 thru 29 and pages 110 thru 114 of DFI Online PDF Manual.

I guess you are using this ram : CORSAIR XMS 1GB (2 x 512MB) 184-Pin DDR SDRAM DDR 400 (PC 3200), either C2 or CPLT2. Also make sure the voltage for your ram is set at least at 1.9v.

This all I can do to help you out.

I did read that earlier, but it sounded like it was supposed to be automatic. Also there really isn't a menu to reduce it to DDR333. I'll have to look around more in that menu.

yea I had the same problem when i added more ram, changed settings to ddr333. In the bios, there should be an option called "dram config." Change that setting to 166 and u should be good.

I had a very similar experience, except using an ASUS AV8-Deluxe and Kingston PC3200 RAM (CL2.5) and with no O/C.
When adding in the 2nd set of 512MB sticks (all 4 sticks the same P/N), the mobo automatically switched to DDR333 speeds, and when manually set to DDR400, it would crash frequently and hard.

I checked the manual to see if the mobo didn't support 4 sticks at full DDR400 speeds but it said nothing and gave no indication that it wouldn't work. The mobo defaulting to the DDR333 gave it away. I think the mobo supports 2 sticks @ DDR400, and 4 sticks @ DDR333 (UNDOCUMENTED).

I was able to get it to run at DDR400 by increasing ram voltage 1 step (0.1v) in the BIOS, but still get a very infrequent hard crash (even though memtest and prime95 have both run at current settings for extended periods of time with no problems). I suspect it will be rock-steady when I get around to turning the ram voltage up one more step.

Just treat your memory as O/C'ed by upping the voltage and it should work fine for you.
