Saw a good deal for a Crucial P2 1TB and decided it was a good idea to get it since my pc is struggling a lot recently with only my old HDD and I could use it when I upgrade my pc later.

My motherboard is a Gigabyte F2A88XM-D3H, so FM2+, using a 860k. As this old board doesn't have a m.2 slot, I bought a m.2 NVMe to PCIe adapter and I guess it works, I installed windows 10 and the NVMe drive but it won't show up as a boot option. Tried reinstalling again with no luck.

Windows Installer manager should had booted in UEFI mode, so I don't know what's wrong.

Solution
The bios on many older boards does not supporting booting from NVMe drives. Fastest boot drive you'll be able to use on that board is a sata ssd, NVMe will just be fast storage.
