problems connect laptop to tv

Hi, i can not get my hdmi cable to connect my ASUS lap top to SAMSUNG tv, it did it once but wont do it again! Can anyone help please. ive tried disabling amd sound device and f8 but it did not work? Ive got windows 7 btw.

Is the TV showing up as a second monitor in Windows? Do you have the TV set to the correct input?

Thanks for replying. No the tv is not showing as a second monitor. When I connect the laptop via the hdmi it say 'no signal, check connection, check power source' but when I do not have it connected it just says 'no signal' so it does change but theres obviously still a problem? Ive gone into where u can selected different monitors and ive tried to sort it through that but to no avail 🙁.

Try a different HDMI port on the TV, and try another HDMI device if you have one. Did you swap the input on the TV to the right one for HDMI?
