Question Problems downloading games from Steam to HDD ?

Hi guys,

I have a problem downloading the games from Steam to HDD, I will share 2 ss to show you the problem and also the spikes. It happens just on the Steam platform and also just when I download it to the HDD, when I download things from Ubisoft/Origin/etc it has no problem.

I have tried already:

• a reboot
• reinstall
• clear cache
• Ethernet driver
• download Region
• disable Firewall/Bitdefender

Spec: 1 Gigabit internet speed
2.5 Gigabit Ethernet card
2TB Seagate Baracuda ST2000DM008 (it´s new)
i7 12700k

so the problem is downloading slow?
does it work when downloading to ssd?

Seems like a network error to me. The disk measurement only declines when the network measurement stops.

Dude i would totally say its your HDD, i learnt that lesson a year or so ago, when downloading to a HDD in steam, i had 1 NVME drive and 1 SSD and 1 HDD and was just downloading an old game so i thought just throw it on the HDD, well, i have a 1GBPS connection, fibre to the home, and it would only ever download to the HDD at around 120mbps, which funnily enough is about as fast as the HDD will go, so i tried the SSD, and wadda ya know, it wud download at about 520mbps, so i thought what the hell,for testing purposes i tried the NVME goes to about 3.5gbps read/writes and it totally capped out my download speed and was downloading at about 950mbps. So its totally the speed of the drive your downloading too.
