Hi there, I had a little flick through the forums and found a couple of similar threads, but none describing exactly what I'm experiencing. So here goes.
Put together a PC, tried to install 64-bit windows 7, but when I look at system settings, it says 32-bit operating system. Here is my set up:
MSI P67A-G45 (B3) *This was bought 2nd hand from ebay, and didn't come with drivers disc.*
Core i5 2500k
8GB G.Skill Ripjaws X 1333 MHz
GTX 560Ti
500gb HDD
So, I know that there are some compatibility problems with the board and certain types of G.Skill RAM, but looking in the system settings in Windows, it recognises there are 8GB installed, but only 3 available of course due to 32-bit windows.
This is my first build. Starting to get a bit frustrated as I just expected to install 64-bit windows straight up. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
The only thing I can really think of is that the motherboard is somehow remembering settings from its previous use? Is that even possible?
Thanks in advance guys (and gals).
