Okay soo bare with me because im a bit of a noob when it comes to computers! I wanted to upgrade my GA-G41M Combo motherboard from 4gb ddr2 to 8gb ddr3 Hyperx Fury but when i power the computer it just beeps 1000 times then powers down!

Its my first time upgrading my computer and im not really sure if the new ram is compatible.
Any help would be cool!

DDR2 and DDR3 are a different standard, and also have a different slot (plug-in).
Your motherboard supports either DDR2 or DDR3 (according to google).
You can not have a mixed pair.
Remove the DDR2 completely.

Definitely not putting the ddr3 in the ddr2 slot as the wouldnt fit

HyperX FURY Series 8GB (2x 4GB) DDR3 1333MHz CL9 DIMM Memory Module Kit

the DDR2 is completely removed.

Btw thanks for the quick response guys! Appreciate the help

You'd be surprised, with enough force DDR3 does feel like it "fits" in a DDR2 slot (it doesn't actually fit, but many people believe they've got it secure).

HyperX FURY does not appear on the QVL (qualified vendor list) for the motherboard, but that usually doesn't matter too much - although sometimes does truly mean it won't work.

Have you updated to the latest BIOS version? And have you tried POSTing with a single 4GB module?
