Problems installing windows 7 through a lg gp50 portable disk reader/writer

I just made my first pc today, and I've come into more problems than I probably should have. I have a nzxt s340 which means there is no external 3.5 bay for a cd rom drive. to compensate, I got a lg gp50 portable disk burner/reader. I have a windows 7 installment disk, and a windows 7 professional upgrade disk, and whenever I go through the steps to install it, it says it can not find any drivers. I've triple checked all my connections to my disk drive and my ssd and even the bios detects it, however it just cant install windows to either no matter what I do. Do I have to get a proper cd/rom drive? do I have to do something else to make my current setup work? or something else? I would really love full steps of what to do.

Have you tried clicking the Drive Options link and see if any drives are listed there?
The 'where do you want to install to' screen will only show you drives it thinks its ok to install to (basically empty drives)
