Problems making on Dell Inspiron 530 th.PC on/off sw.

MY dell Inspiron 530 facing trouble to make it ON by pressing on/off sw. The on/off sw. has to press long time say 3/5 min, the amber light starts blimking . some time steady state amber light glowing brightly then sudden my PC getting ON (Blue light) and some times not. Whenever PC is ON if i switch off the PC again tries to make it on th. sw. the PC is getting ON nicely without blinking amber light. Some tech. says problem in the on/off sw. others say smps trouble. kindly help.

You probably have to replace the power supply like a lot of other Dell customers we get here.

Can you download and run HWInfo so we can see what your getting from the power supply - 12v, 5v and 3.3v min and max voltages?

You can do this simple test.

Remove the battery, plug it to a/c then power it on.

This may sound crude, but this is will help in diagnosing your problem. Post back the results.
