When starting my Dell system after the desktopicons have appeared windows
installer box starts stating iniating repair then Norton Anti viruse stats
that norton does not support the repair and that i have to uninstall it and
reinstall it. i do not have a Norton Disk as it came with the dell system.
Any ideas on what the windows installer is and how do i stop it.

Had that happen to me - did you by any chance move the Nortons program icons to
different locations in your Start Menu? That's what caused my problem. If you did,
put them back in the original location.
