Ok Ive read many reviews of the card etc with the one I bought the eVGA Nvidia 6800 GT, Everyone says its been overclocking easily with air cooling to 400ish, Done via coolbits2 and rivatuner. So the card can be overclocked even a slight overclock shouldnt be a problem, heres where my problem / experiences come into play...
Whenever I install coolbits / rivatuner and up the core by 5mhz, Putting me at 355 above the stock 350, 3dmark crashes when I run a test, and when the computer restarts often times when windows loads I wont have any icons on my desktop. Ive tried this with a bunch of diffrent drivers and It seems im not having any luck at all. Every overclocking guide / literature im finding all pretty much state the same thing, go up slowly in increments, until you see artifacts / snow, my problem is the system is becoming unstable with any hint of overclock. Am I overlooking something??
With stock speeds the card completes 3dmark 03 and 3dmark 05 tests with no problem, no problems running doom 3, Starwars battlefronts etc, Done a few torture tests on other programs with no problems. The card is staying pretty cool, it seems to have no problems running under full load. Any help or advice is appreciated...
