I tried to replace my Latitude E6430 HDD with a Samsung Evo 240 GB SSD and ran into terrible problems trying to reseat the SSD in this laptop. Now, I can't get it even to see the old HDD when I swapped it back. They fit but the laptop doesn't recognize any HDD or SSD installed. Any hints what I'm doing wrong? What should my BIOS settings be?

Solution
Make sure that the connections are connected properly (Bit obvious) and that you haven't damaged any of the pins. As for motherboard settings, as long as it is in ACHI mode and not IDE or anything else. You should be good to go.
