Problems Resetting Computer

I am trying to do a full reset on my computer, but everytime I either do settings and recovery or just do an iso install and delete all the files, my PC restarts sometime in the middle and just remains on an empty black screen. I hard reboot and then it something is wrong, no changes were made. What can I do to ensure the reset gets done?
