I have a laptop that originally came with Windows 7 and a P6200 processor. I upgraded it by adding RAM and an SSD and an I5 520M processor to install Windows 10. However, although the laptop recognizes this processor, the Windows installation crashes. As a workaround, I completed the installation with the P6200 and then replaced it with the I5 to take advantage of the better performance of this more modern processor. However, this creates a conflict of information between the processor installed in the BIOS (I5 520M) and the processor that exists in Windows (P6200). Consequently, if I access the BIOS, install updates or just turn off the screen, the system does not return, and I have to switch to the original processor.
Is there a way to make Windows accept the I5 520M during installation? How can I solve this problem? (It's no use saying "buy another one", I already know that hahaha).
Tanks!
