Dear users at Tom's Hardware

I am new to this site and hope someone can help me. I have been using my 13.3'' notebook ASUS UL30A for several years now and have been very happy with it. Now it is pretty slow and I wanted to change the 500 GB Harddrive with a Samsung EVO 840 SSD. It is physically installed now and I wanted to start from scratch with a new Windows 7 installation. I ran into troubles, though, receiving the following message when trying to create partitions:

'Windows cannot be installed to this disk. This computer's hardware may not support booting to this disk. Ensure the disk's controller is enabled in the computer's BIOS menu.'

I have been viewing several pages on the Internet and got the impression it is a problem maybe connected to the hardware. I figured it was beyond my knowledge and hope someone can help me make it Work. I Wonder if my hardware has any limitations, making it impossible to accomplish my task?

Since I get no responses, maybe I should add that I have been looking for AHCI in the bios, but what is available there is:
Advanced > Ide Configuration > SATA Operation Mode.
It is set to 'Enhanced'. The alternative is 'Compatible'. I see no AHCI!

Hello! this is a message to all the ones enjoying an SSD in their UL30
I bought 2 Samsung EVO840 240GB SSD, installed one in a HP laptop without problem. But going into issues on my ASUS UL30A. BIOS updated to 212, ASUS Win7 Restore partition cloned on the SDD.
After replacing the HDD by the SSD, F9 successfully launches the Restore program that installs Windows 7 on the SSD - at least it says it succeeds. Upon rebooting, there is an error message about a "recent hardware or software change" that makes it impossible to boot. Can't boot on the newly restored Win7 SSD partition.
I have tried different cloning methods and different BIOS options, but no luck.
Can you help?
