I cannot seem to boot my desktop for the first time.

I think it's a ram compatibility problem.

I am trying to use team xtreme 240pin (2x8gb) 2400 ram with an asus sabertooth x79 that is quad channel. Ive read online that 2 sticks of ram should work after a BIOS flash update.

I have a permanent dram_led light continuously on. When I tried pressing the mem_ok button, the dram_led flashes on and off and the computer shuts itself on and off until the dram_led light returns to originally permanently on.

when I connect to a tv monitor, it just shows that there is no signal.

Hmm, try one stick at a time.

Did you check the QVL before you picked that memory for that board? Nothing from Team Xtreme shows up under 2400.

1.65 volt memory, might not be supplying enough juice to get them running. If you have access to any other DDR3 I would try to get into your BIOS and reset the settings to something pretty mundane, then work your way up to 2400Mhz. If it is firing up by default at 1.5 the ram might not be stable enough for a boot.

Mem_OK has worked for me before with my e-350, but I didn't exactly spend a lot on the RAM for that.
