Hey guys,
I have problems with the Wi-Fi on my desktop computer for about a week now. Additionally to the high ping, I get in the evenings, because of the cable internet of my provider, I have ping spikes for 2-3 times a minute. Firstly I thought, that it was the fault of my provider as well, but when I ping my default gateway, I get some spikes in ping from 200ms to 700ms. Now I am asking, what that could be. Is my computer somehow infected? Might there be problems, because I use 2,4Ghz and there are some other routers, that my neighbours use in the area? Or do I just have a bad setting somewhere?
I already have restarted the router, changed channels, checked on other devices and it seems, that it spikes the most on this rig, I am using. https://imgur.com/a/vMkYS

Solution
You have to be ready to accept some loss when on the 2.4Ghz frequency because of interference from other devices. If its indeed your PC try reinstalling the drivers. Before that, try to position your computer so that it is strategically closer to the source signal than it is now. I noticed a difference of 10Mbps when I had my wireless adapter connected to the front vs the back.
