Problems with BFG 8800GTX OC please help. Anyone with recent BIOS?

Hi guys,

I am having some problems with my Graphic's card. When I open GPU-Z, the gpu part is showing 0MHZ.

When I installed the drivers I get error 43 (Code 43: Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems) on Windows 7 and Error 10 on Windows XP. (same error really.)

The fan is working fine. I tried using a different PSU just in case and no joy there either.

I was thinking to try underclocking or overclocking the graphic's card,(not sure if that would help, but I don't have anything to lose really). Does any one have any bios files for BFG 8800GTX OC 768MB 384? I am happy to take the risk.

Any other suggestions are welcome too!

I didn't mention that, but: I tried reinstalling drivers, uninstalled, reinstalled different versions for Windows XP and Windows 7 with no joy.

Code 43 isn't good, you got a worse problem than just bios. I had this issue with my 8600gts and even the oven bake trick didn't fix it due to bad vram but the core would still post. Are you getting typical draw errors such as lines and blocks/triangles?

When I first start the computer, it seems to be booting up (only during the mother board bios) with random pixels which was very suspicious to me.

What do you suggest to try as I am open for suggestions?

You could try the common oven bake method.

Oven bake method rules!!!!!!! I managed to fix it using the baked method! works like a charm!

If the card is out of warranty and it is the only thing you can do then give it is shot. Typically it is the bonding going bad so a reflow aka oven bake does the job fixing that.
