I installed Win XP in a hd and installed vista in another... But I didn't like Windows Vista and just formatted the HD... But now when I turn the PC on, the Dual Boot screen continues to appear... How I make it dissapear and make my PC only start with Windows XP?

There are files that are hidden on the main drive with the XP install on it. They should be hidden on c: and should be named "boot" or something. Sorry, I don't have my Vista install either otherwise I could tell you exactly what they are named. I do know that's where they are though.

Ok... I'll search for it... But what should I do with this file??

I would move it somewhere else and see if the bootloader comes up. If it doesn't come up I would delete it. Moving it first would insure you aren't deleting any important files.

u could change the mbr or master boot record to this

[boot loader]
timeout=30
default=multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)WINDOWS
[operating systems]
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)WINDOWS="Microsoft Windows XP Professional" /fastdetect
u can get to the mbr by either goin thru control panel >system >advanced >
startup and recovery >then click edit and make the necessary changes and save the file

This is already written there...
But I noticed that there's a message left in the file telling that I must use bcdedit.exe (that seems to exist only in Windows Vista) to change the boot options... I'll check that...
Thanks for the help!! 😀
