Hello guys,
I have very strange problem with my Gigabyte GTX 1080 G1,for which i need help. I notice from a few weeks now that my Idle temperatures are higher than usual , because the fans don`t stop spinning at all as usual . At first i did not pay much of attention because i had a lot work . But now i started to investigate the problem , and it seams that my GPU in IDLE is always around 48-49 C* .Which is way higher for this GPU, i had in the beginning around 37C* Idle . So i stated wondering why this is happening , there is not overclock at all , its just default setting all together. And then i notice something very very strange , no matter that i don`t have any overclock at all , my GPU voltage is higher than it should be , its 0.862 V and it should be 0.625 V . I checked on many website where they have screenshots of the Gigabyte Extreme Engine settings , and everywhere the voltage is 0.625 . So i`m guessing this is why the GPU is heating up , but there is no gain in frequency or anything and there is no overclock , how this could have happen ? What is causing it ? And is it possible this voltage rise to damage my GPU ?
Thanks in advance

Solution
Okay i found the problem, so just to write it here if someone has a problem like that .
Apparently was driver issue , the GPU was locking at 1696hz even when its in idle , no matter what you do it stays at that frequency and temps are around 50C* or goes higher when its under load . So before some weeks i was adjusting Nvidia control panel settings , and i put prefer maximum performance under global settings ,which lock the card to be at maximum all the time . So when you put the setting to Optimal Power and restart the PC , everything should be back to normal.
Something is most likely using your GPU, at least a couple of percent of it, meaning that it will not clock down properly when idleling. I see that GPU-Z sais zero percent load, but try closing that gigabyte software, and check if any other applications are running that could require acces to the GPU.

Newest driver installed?

Yeah profile 1 is the default one . Well i tried everything , i tried to stop all programs and apps that i have on startup . But nothing helps , the GPU does not go under 0.862 . It goes only above that when i put load on it . I closed the gigabyte software as well , that did not helped as well. It happened before around 1 month , when i decided to update my mobo bios to the last version available . Don`t know if that could be causing issues , don`t know if there is something in mobo bios controlling the voltage of the GPU ..... however except that i don`t think i changed anything else.
