Question Problems with hitachi 3.5 drive and dynamode enclosure

I have removed a 500gb hitachi cinemastar hard drive with sata connection from a lacie enclosure and fitted it into a dynamode sata 3.5inch enclosure. The dynamode enclosure is seen by my laptop, when I try it with my hard drive connected it disappears from my laptop. Reason for changing was that I was finding it difficult to source a power pack for the lacie enclosure. Connect tin for dynamode to laptop is usb 3.0. Any help would be appreciated.

It's a 3.5" 7200 rpm HDD and probably not getting enough power to run from just the USB jack which is probably why the Lacie enclosure used the power pack.

Hi, thank you for the reply. The enclosure has a power pack with it which is why I bought that specific one. However I did think that lack of power was the case. I've struggled to find the correct power supply for the lacie drive do you know where I could get one?

Cant see anything on the lacie box. This is on the drive.

If you can upload detailed photos of the USB-SATA bridge PCB inside the Lacie enclosure, it may be possible to determine the specs and pinout of a suitable power adapter.
