i recently got a pcchips m863g motherboard and i'm having problems installing it. i can't seem to figure out where to put the power switch! no manual and i can't find much with google. please help newbie

The power switch is located in the color coded pin cluster in the corner of the board, near the ide port. I believe the 2 pins for the power switch are black, but you should be able to find it by looking for the white id labeling. It won't hurt anything to connect the wrong pins, as these are all low voltage.

you can just keep touching pairs of pins with a screwdriver until you find the pair that turn it on.

you're talking about the block of pins in the lower right of <A HREF="http://www.pcchips.com.tw/PCCWeb/images/product/large/m863ag_15.jpg" target="_new">this photo</A> right?

Just keep touching pairs of those with a screwdriver. The pair that turns on the mobo is the correct pair.

it? Did you touch all possible pairs? Is it hooked up to the power supply and plugged in?
