Hello!
I'm having some issues with a newly bought M.2 SSD. When installed in any of my two M.2 slots on the mobo, the comp simply won't boot to windows. I either get an error telling me to restore windows with the win recovery tool (slot 2), or I get an error stating that the bootmgr is missing (slot 1)

I've checked the boot order for my disks, and when in pos 2, the boot order seems fine, while as in pos 1, I can't seem to find the SSD I'm normally booting from.

My specs are as follows:
HyperX Predator DDR4 2800MHz 16GB
4x4GB, DDR4 Non-ECC CL14 DIMM (Kit of 4) XMP Predator Series

Corsair H110i GT Hydro Series CPU Kjøler
280mm Radiator, 115x//2011/2011-3/1366, AM2(+)/AM3(+)/FM1/FM2, 2100 RPM, 113 CFM

Gigabyte GeForce GTX 980Ti 6GB G1 GAMING
PCI-Express 3.0, "Windforce 3X OC", DL-DVI-I + DL-DVI-D, HDMI 2.0, 3xDP

Corsair RM1000, 1000W PSU
ATX 12V V2.4, 80 Plus Gold, Modular, 8x 6+2-pin PCIe, 12x SATA, 11x Molex, 2x FD

NZXT H440 Midi Tower Sort
Vifter: 3x 120mm Front, 1x 140mm Bak, mITX, mATX, ATX, Støydempet, Vindu

MSI Z170A GAMING M7, Socket-1151
ATX, Z170, DDR4, 3xPCIe-x16,SLI/CFX, Killer E2400, HDMI, DP, M.2, USB3.1

In advance, thanks for your time!

Solution
when installing, if it is an NVME m.2 please download and load the m.2 NVME driver before loading the m.2. this driver is required to recognize NVME drives.

the error comes because your SSD is the one with the bootmanager installed, You do not have the M.2 loaded into your BCD so it does not see the m.2 as a bootable option.
