Hi, I have been having some issues with my new Gigabyte M61P-S3 Motherboard.
My System -
AMD64 X2 4000
80GB IDE HD
1 GB RAM
430 Watt PSU
My first (& least troubling) issue is that on boot up it pauses for almost a minute after the memory check before displaying the IDE devices.
The next issue is the most troubling & seems to have a few variations in theme but ususally plays out like this. XP will install normally, without difficulty. But upon restart, if the boot sequence is set to HD only it stalls after verifying DMI pool data for a bit & brings up a Disk Boot Failure message.
The same thing will occur if I set the boot sequence to read the CD unit first if the XP CD isn't in the CD draw.
In fact the only time I have made it back into XP is when the Boot Sequence is set to read the CD first & the XP install CD is in the drive.
This is really perplexing me. The only thing I can think is if either it something to do with my IDE devices (they are next to test - but were working fine in another machine a couple of hours ago) or its something to do with the board?
Or maybe I am missing something ...?
Can anyone help ?
