problems with my generic gamepad

Hi everyone
I recently bought a generic USB Chinese D-input gamepad and whenever I plug it in it stops working after a few minutes. when I plug it out and then plug it back in, it says Windows failed to recognize the device or it has malfunctioned unless I restart the Computer. Then it starts working for another few minutes. I'm using windows 8.1 with all the drivers up to date. I also have another generic USB gamepad that works fine. Thanks in Advance.

There's really no fix for that afaik. The only thing I can suggest is to get a controller from a reputable manufacturer.

You can get a used Logitech F310 off amazon for $10, or a used microsoft windows 360-style controller for $20.
