Alright so I just built my first PC and I've had a few problems.

Case: BeQuiet Pure Base 600 Orange
Motherboard: Asrock ab350 k4 gaming
PSU: Be Quiet BN278 PURE POWER 10 600 W
CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 1600x
CPU Cooler: BeQuiet Dark Rock 3
RAM: Corsair Vengeance LPX 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4
GPU: MSI GTX 1070 GAMING X
Memory: Kingston 250GB SSD

To start, trying to install windows was a pain. Constant freezes, black screens and error codes. Eventually me and friend found out that having just 1 of the RAM sticks in the 4th slot seemed to do the trick. So windows installs and I start downloading all my stuff. Later that night I go to play some PlayerUnknown Battlegrounds and its running perfectly smooth until we die. As we go out of the game into the main menu I get a blue screen with an error "MEMORY_MANAGEMENT". Ive tested this a few times and happens everytime as I leave the game or if i tab out. I also noticed a buzzing coming from the RAM slots when the game launched. Please can anybody offer some assistance. Also I'm ok with PC's but expect to have to talk me through the steps of doing some stuff.

*note*-After windows installed and all seemed g I put back in the 2nd RAM stick and the PC wouldnt launch. After that I ran with just 1 Stick until the problems above started happening.

Max.

Solution

Hi man,

Ended up just opting to return the RAM and motherboard. I'm going to get an ASUS board and RipJaw RAM instead.

Thanks for the help.

Hi man thanks for the reply.
Ye when we were going through the troubleshooting for the windows installer freezing we tried 1 RAM stick in the second slot and the PC wouldnt boot.

I tried the stick in the 2nd slot. Game ran grand as before and unlike before, didnt crash after i died and exited to lobby. But there is still a noticeable buzzing noise from the RAM when I boot the game.

I asked if you tried the "other" RAM stick in the 2nd slot.
You indicated that you had 2 sticks and you previously said that you had booting problems with the first stick in the 2nd slot.
The buzzing sound is most likely from the VRM units.

That was the one that wasn't working with the windows installer. I'll give it another go tomorow because I'm up early for work.
Thanks for the help so far.

Hi man,

I put in both RAM sticks in the original the order I installed them. This time the PC actually booted with the two in, Horray!
However, I am still getting that electrical buzz when i launch into a game. Will I send a file/youtube clip of the noise?

Max.

Alright thanks for helping man. I'm not gonna mark the answer just yet to see if anyone can figure out the buzzing.

Bad news, playing Overwatch there and I left the game at the end and crash like again. Sort code is MEMORY_MANAGEMENT

Could I be a bios update is needed? My current one is 2.40 and I think I saw somewhere it's 2.50.

2.4 is agesa 1.6 , 2.5 ia 1.6b so yea it makes sense if you can.

However if that's 3000mhz ram & its running at 2933mhz then its probably automatically using 2666mhz timings which are too tight.

I would either drop in bios & enable docp or manually set the ram to 2666mhz & see if the problem stops.

Hey man, RAM I'd 2400Mhz. One thing I didn't mention and idk why, when I tried to download the ASROCK drivers, I got a crash when the download was on like 80%.

I was extremely careful installing the CPU , I'm certain it's not the issue. Like the buzzing noise is coming directly from the DIMM slots and all the error codes I've gotten have related to memory.

Go ahead and submit a ticket on our support site, and we can try replacing the kit for you. When you get a chance, please PM me the ticket number, part number, version, and lot/serial number on the side of the modules.
