problems with my Wifi showing up on Networks

My wifi isn't showing up at all while i try to search for it on my phone, nor does it show it on my desktop. what could be the problem? could it mean that the router is somehow outdated and we need a new one?

Id say you are not broadcasting the SSID check the Router settings
