Okay, I have a head scratcher here.
Have an HP 500-214...well, most of it still is.
But the mobo/processor are still the same

That's the overall specs for the system...but the mobo/processor are in there.

Recently, within the pat week, I picked up GTA V for teh PC. Needed to upgrade some stuff in there in order to play it.
Got a Geforce GTX 960 vid card to play it. But, it requires a lot of power, so I Got a new power supply too.
Now, the old power supply in the HP was a 300W power supply. To help out with the new vid card, I got a 750W power supply. It is a Corsair CX750M power supply.
Other than unplugging the DVD drive and HDD from the power supply, I unplugged the two things from the mother board from the old power supply. The...whatever it is, 32 pin plugin, and a 4 pin plugin right by the processor.
Well, of course, it won't turn on now. Power supply won't even click. Plugged everything back in the way it should be.
So, first thing, before we get too deep with this...which we might have to...

Will this power supply work with this motherboard?

Thanks.

And depending on the answers, I will have more questions and pictures and stuff to share to help solve the problem.

It should work fine. Are you sure you've plugged everything in correctly? (Check the manual)
If you have then try your old PSU again, and if that works you may have a new faulty PSU. DOA does happen.

I really don't think there was a manual with the power supply. Just a pamphlet about the warranty.
But anyways, i"ll try the old power supply and see what's up.
But still, you'd think things would work outside of the box these days.

So, while I"m trying that, here is a question or two I have.
Here is the back of the power supply I got:

Now, i have the new vid card plugged the 6+2 PCI-E there.
Which, I'd assume to plug all into there, because the card itself has 8 plugs there.

I have the HDD plugged into peripheral + sata ones there. Which, I'd assume they are all the same.

Now, coming directly out of the power supply are the 32 pin connector for the mobo, and the 4 pin thing right by the processor.
But, with my old power supply, I just had 4 pins for it. This one, has 8 pins, that can split up into 4 each:

So A) when I split it apart, the only one that fits should fit and work, yes? and B) I should be using the plug coming straight out of the powersupply,
not the plug on the back marked 4+4 CPU?

Also, maybe a problem, maybe not...but on the 32pin connector:

It all fits into the mobo, but it won't click/snap down, since it has the clip there.
Is that a huge problem?
Could that be why it won't turn on?

Somebody was telling me that all the connections have to be in proper before the power supply will turn on.
Which stinks. You think you could just plug it in and turn it on just to see if it is a good power supply.
But I guess not.

Okay, so I tried the paper clip test, and it worked. So it isn't the power supply

But here is something else...
on my old power uspply, it had missing plugs in slots 14 and 20.
The new power supply, is only missing in slot 20.
But that shouldn't stop it, should it?

It appears your mobo may have compatibility issues with high end cards.
But all is not lost just yet. Try doing this:

1) Remove GPU
2) Reset BIOS with jumper http://www.wikihow.com/Reset-Your-BIOS
3) Take out CMOS battery for 20 min ,
4) Re-sit GPU with 8 and 6 pins hooked up to it ,
5) start PC (You'll get error beeps, ignore them) ,
6) Wait at least 20 mins.
7) PC may boot on it's own , if it doesn't then power up and see if it's fixed.
