i use TP link powerline adapters for my main PC in my house and also for my 2nd PC (Dell Laptop) in my garage/office. The garage is about 20 yards from the main house and cannot eceive a good wifi signal. My router and switch is in my laundry room which is probably another 8yds on top.

The weird thing is that sometimes I get excellent speeds when connecting to my 100Mbps ISP line (25-40Mbps) and sometimes the connection just drops completely, probably every 30 mins or so, however the indoor powerline connected PC is just fine and getting 45-60Mbps.
I expect some kind of degredation in the garage since it is further away but it seems strange that it just stops working completely for 5-10minutes.

Any ideas what is happening here?

It could be an appliance that is cycling off and on automatically, and it is inducing noise and interfering with your adapters.

I'd recommend first looking for equipment that is sharing the same circuit to your garage. Maybe a refrigerator, air conditioner or other appliance. It would be hard to eliminate without unplugging or disabling the device while you test your network.

Ok I will give that a go and report back - might take a while
