Ever since I installed SP2 I have been unable to start Winfax 10

So I thought i'd try Xp Fax. When I first configured it I could send,
got a handshacking screech and then"error unable to send fax" or
something to that effect (I didn't write it down)

I was also unable to"pause" the fax within the console

I rebooted and now when I use the Wizard it goes thru' to the eend and
nothing. No send. Nothing in the monitor. Nothing in the Console

What gives?

Using a standard PCI US Robotics WinModem w/voice. i have broadband
(but obvously tried it not connected). Running XpPro SP2

What gives? Any help appreciated.

Hi,
I have the same problem. Windows fax failed to work after installation
of SP2. It still doesn't work after uninstallation. Still struggling..

Jerry & KC: Any luck yet? Any answers from Microsoft on a fix for this? I
had no trouble with faxing prior to the SP 2!

Can you please open Control Panel | Phone and Modem Options and see if any
Default Location is selected (alternately, you can do start | run |
telephon.cpl to invoke the same UI). If not default location is selected,
please select one. Let us know if this fixes your problem.

Thanks,
Anand

It is working now...I am a bit embarrassed to say, but I think the phone line
into the jack was loose (tab is broken). I have no problems sending and, I
assume (because I have not tried), receiving.
