problems with tr4 and xp

I seems not able to get my tr4 to run on my new xp pc. can anyone give me a
hint why this might be? thanks.

Setting compatibility mode up usually allows it to run, but levels may load
appallingly slowly.

You may like to grab the slow level loading patch from tomb raider
chronicles, which also allows the game to be run in XP without compatibility
mode - good luck!
