Problems with Windows Update

1st off, I've been having trouble with using Windows Update for, every time I try to utilize the service I simply get the following error code..Windows Update error 80072f8f Though, I did manage to download the critical updates via manually downloading them.Still, I've done a complete & thorough virus scan but, nothing shows up though(using eset smart security 4) I feel there has to be something that is causing this to occur even if my security software indicates a clean system as, I've even done a comprehensive scan in safe mode with a clean system just to be on the safe.All possible advice shall be greatly appreciated..

I've actually adjusted and synchronized my computer time but, the problem persists..
