My pc has two profiles on start up , one for me and the other my
girlfriend...if im logged into mine and i then switch user to get
something of the girlfriends profile everything seems ok but when i go
to log off the girlfiends to go back to my profile the monitor goes on
standby and the only way to get the pc back on is to hit the reset
button on the front of the tower....
Then now it has just done it once after hitting START ,TURN OFF
COMPUTER..This is a fresh install of windows last night with service
pack 2 installed ... no programs have been installed as yet , well none
of my own anyway..
Its becomming annoying now... all windows updates have been preformed

Did you install the drivers provided with your motherboard? You can also go
into your BIOS and make sure that you have suspend or standby turned off
there also. That way you leave it to your O/S to do power management.
