i recently bought a intel ac 3160 mini pci e wifi card for a itx board, a msi am1i, i installed it and tested it on linux, it couldn't see much networks and couldn't connect to any of them, i was sure that the os was the problem so i tried the same hardware on windows 10, some more networks visible but couldn't connect to any of them

blutetooth works well on bot os

i'm thinking that the antennas are the problem or the card itself, shouldn't be used on a desktop pc?

perhaps i should have bought a 7260?

any recomendation on antennas?

Desktop shouldn't make a difference. Did you let windows auto install the driver? If so go to the intel site and install it yourself. I don't think the antenna is the issue if it can see them. Did you try to take it out and put it back in? Just to double check everything is installed correctly and there's no junk in the ports.

yes i let windows download it, but it didn't made bluetooth work so i downloaded the full driver but made no difference, will try to reseat the card again, but i already had a card there that worked weird, i'm starting to doubt on the board and not the adapter itself, thank you for your reply

edit: i just reseated the card and put antennas in a different position, i was trying to reuse some old antennas i had arount but seems that it is the problem because both linux and windows connect without issues and see lots of networks, any antenna recomendations for a itx case that doesn't have pci slots left thanks to the video card?
