Im thinking to buy this CPu Procesor AMD Athlon II X4 840 and a motherboard ASRock FM2A58M VG3+ R2.0, FM2. Would this be good for gaming? Oppinins?

No, everything about those two items you listed is horribly out dated. If you must go with AMD as your CPU, you need to go with an AM3+ socket at least. Anything less than an FX 6300 from AMD is not that great for gaming.

Moral of the story is go Intel or go home.

Actually the AMD FX chips can be found for real cheap these days, look for the FX6xxx series or the FX 8xxx series.

Well I mean, their product is superior.... especially for "gaming" like OP wants.

That only thing that ancient Athlon will play "dandy" is maybe minesweeper.

When a person asks about gaming in 2015 I give them options that aren't a decade old. Like I said AMDs AM3+ Lineup can be found for very little sums of money, and the FX lineup still holds its own.

The Athlon II X4 840 is AM3. The board is FM2 so they are totally incompatible.

An 860K will give better framerates than a FX cpu due to better ipc for the bulk of the games out there. I know this as I have an 8320 @ 4.7 GHz, a 6300 @ 4.8 GHz and an 860K @ 4.45 GHz. All with the same discrete card. I consistently get better fps with the 860K in my testing. Most games are terribly threaded even in 2015.

Superio as in what? if you game at 60hz what point does it have a cpu that runs a game at 120fps compared to an amd that runs it at 90fps, paying fore for higher wasted frames? lol

also I would say if going get an fx 6300 as minimun and upgrade to fx 8350/70 in the future, the athlon is a good quad core budget x4 860k that is, but you dont have much of an upgrade path.

fX 4300 is not worth it at this point when the 6300 costs just like $10 more.

No they are same socket...look again

Superior in every way?

Better performances across the board, better efficiency, better at overclock, better future compatibility. Even a cheap current gen dual core from Intel will outperform most AMD quad cores.

Doesn't matter what AM3/+ chip you get, that socket has little headroom.

The only thing AMDs CPUs have going for them is the price and easy to mount coolers. (I hate those Intel pin things)

Then what do you suggest to buy for gaming,CPU and Motherboard?. Budget 200$

Please stick to topic in thread you are make to much spam !!!
About Cheap Inte i3 cost around AMD + mobo :)
And have lower cost performance ratio.
And famous G3258 is no more for gaming because often have low fps dips in new games, X4 860k have more stable FPS.

What parts already you have ?
Give as price limit for entire PC.
You buying in what country ?

Buy an Xbox or PS3, you can find em for about that much. I don't say that lightly either, I'm all for PCMASTERRACE, but "gaming" on $200 for a PC will just not happen.

Maybe save up? even $300 or $400 would be a much better PC

Building a gaming PC for $200 is just throwing money away, it will play older games now on low settings with horrible FPS, it may even play modern games ( Like a slideshow) but in a year or two it will be utterly worthless.

Random suggestion: Look for a Microcenter store in your area, the have insane deals on parts. It's like the walmart for pc parts.

I will post all i want until a mod tells me to stop.

Here in America we call that freedom of speech.

I want just to buy CPU and motherboard for 200$
