Question for everyone again. I have been playing with these A7V's for a while now and I am starting to think the AMD thunderbird is dead. It has never had a fan on it and beeped at me a couple times because it was too hot. It was oem. What do you think and how do I know it its dead or not?

um...

he athlon's don't have a heat shut off like intel does...

if you didn't have a heat sink and fan on the processor and you fired it up... and it ran for a few minutes... then yes...

it's dead

but on the brighter side now you have the most expensive keyring!

What I am wondering is why there was no heat sink and fan to begin with?? What system did you buy?

I am inquiring about the system Spleen has. It's odd that it wouldn't have a heat sink and fan.

I built my system myself as well, and I would always use heat sink and fan.
