As Dugimodo suggests it depends on your "use case scenario". It's a bit of a cop out answer on my part but also true. Depending on how you use your PC, weigh up the importance of the software you use and match to your budget and the component choice.
The Ryzen r7s are generally seen as very competitive content creation processors which can match the Intel i7s in most cases. The r7s are seen as disappointing for gaming by comparison though (but not bad) because the performance it shows in content creation doesn't translate to gaming performance.
