Which to choose? AMD Mobile Athlon 2500+ or Mobile Athlon 2600+ for
over clocking?
Also, my MB, Abit NF7-S v2.0 has a Northbridge HSF I would like to
replace with a Zalman ZM-NB47J to quiet it down a bit. My case has a
fan that blows directly on the MB so this shouldn't be a problem. Can
the fan header be left open?

thanks

Pretty much the same chip, doesn't matter. Some people are under the
impression that the 2600 will o'c higher but it also seems to make more
difference which particular chip you get rather than model name, or in
particular, the heatsink used.

Yes, fan header doesn't HAVE to be used.

I'll be using a Thermalright sp97/Panaflo 92mm so no heat problems
anticipated. Guess I'll get the 2500 and save a few $.

Good to know. I'm planning on hooking the PSU fan, 1 case (exhaust)
fan and the CPU fan to the MB. Everything else, (1 intake, another
exhaust and 1 mobo fan) is going on a HardCano controller.

many thanks
